KIN(dness) LOV(e) GRA(titude) Quotations Inside-Out Tee
Text: “This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.” ~ Dalai Lama “It's not our job to play judge and jury, to determine who is worthy of our kindness and who is not. We just need to be kind, unconditionally and without ulterior motive, even - or rather, especially - when we'd prefer not to be.” ~ Josh Radnor “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." ~ Mark Twain “If you want to be a rebel, be kind.” ~ Pancho Ramos Stierle “Tenderness and kindness are not signs of weakness and despair, but manifestations of strength and resolution.” ~ Kahlil Gibran “Kindness is in our power, even when fondness is not.” ~ Samuel Johnson “What this world needs is a new kind of army -- the army of the kind.” ~ Cleveland Amory “When words are both true and kind they can change the world.” ~ Buddha “Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than dream: work. Do more than be fair: be kind.” ~ William Arthur Ward “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” ~ Aesop “Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for a kindness.” ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca “Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.” ~ Og Mandino “A kind and compassionate act is often its own reward.” ~ William Bennett “As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate.” ~ Albert Schweitzer “If I see you as different and I view you with suspicion, or at best with cold neutrality, it is unlikely that I will feel kindly disposed toward you. If instead I look at you knowing we both belong to the human race, both have a similar nature, different experiences but the same roots and a common destiny, then it is probable I will feel openness, solidarity, empathy toward you. In another word, Kindness.” ~ Pierro Ferucci “Keep feeling the need for being first. But I want you to be the first in love. I want you to be the first in moral excellence. I want you to be the first in generosity.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr. “As long as we observe love for others and respect for their rights and dignity in our daily lives, then whether we are learned or unlearned, whether we believe in the Buddha or God, follow some religion or none at all, as long as we have compassion for others and conduct ourselves with restraint out of a sense of responsibility, there is no doubt we will be happy.” ~ Dalai Lama “Love liberates. It doesn’t just hold—that’s ego. Love liberates. It doesn’t bind. Love says, ‘I love you. I love you if you’re in China. I love you if you’re across town. I love you if you’re in Harlem. I love you. I would like to be near you. I’d like to have your arms around me. I’d like to hear your voice in my ear. But that’s not possible now, so I love you. Go.” ~ Maya Angelou “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” ~ Nelson Mandela “Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.” ~ Mother Teresa “We need Joy as we need air. We need Love as we need water. We need each other as we need the earth we share.” ~ Maya Angelou “I write about the power of trying, because I want to be okay with failing. I write about generosity because I battle selfishness. I write about joy because I know sorrow. I write about faith because I almost lost mine, and I know what it is to be broken and in need of redemption. I write about gratitude because I am thankful - for all of it.” ~ Kristin Armstrong “Often people ask how I manage to be happy despite having no arms and no legs. The quick answer is that I have a choice. I can be angry about not having limbs, or I can be thankful that I have a purpose. I chose gratitude.” ~ Nick Vujicic “When it comes to life the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude.” ~ Gilbert K. Chesterton “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.” ~ Melody Beattie “When we focus on gratitude, the tide of disappointment goes out and the tide of love rushes in.” ~ Kristin Armstrong "I don't have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness - it's right in front of me if I'm paying attention and practicing gratitude.” ~ Brene Brown "We think we have to do something to be grateful or something has to be done in order for us to be grateful, when gratitude is a state of being.” ~ Iyanla Vanzant "Gratitude always comes into play; research shows that people are happier if they are grateful for the positive things in their lives, rather than worrying about what might be missing.” ~ Dan Buettner “No gesture is too small when done with gratitude.” ~ The incredible woman whose wisdom and love encouraged me to fight (and surrender) my way out of a crippling depression; whose overflowing kindness sparked the wick of compassion within me; whose philanthropic spirit has shined a path to true happiness and has inspired me to follow my higher purpose aka birthing KIN LOV GRA; the one and only Oprah Winfrey.
